Heads

89 BII heads are cast iron. I replaced my cracked ones with World Casting. The old ones are laying out behind the wood pile. Use them for holding down tarps.

I have109K on my 89,never been in the engine for anything but a water pump and a new thernastat.
86,87,mid 88 2.9 where kown or having bad heads, the would not go for long without water flow in them befor they would crack.Ford redesigned them and they are better but they still DO NOT LIKE HEAT!!!

I changed antifreeze every 3 yrs and always used distilled water for the pass 40 yrs and have never had any internal cooling problems. Maybe water pump or a clutch fan. Never a pluged up rad or eng from hard water.
