fuses

could someone tell me what number fuse operates the horn and the cruise control. I just bought a 99' F-350 PSD and neither of the two work and I don't have a manual to let me know which ones they are without pulling them all out. not sure if it's the fuses or not but thought I would check. The horn works with the panic button but not the button on the wheel.

Fuses #12,15,28 but it sounds like a clockspring malfunction.

That's an awesome verse:
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.Gives us hope!

I also have a fuse issue, I have a 2000 F350 Turbo Diesel, I had fuse #28 burn out this past winter, replaced it and hadn't had a problem since. In the last 2 days, I've been through 3 fuses and it's burned out again. The manual says it's for:
"Brake Shift Interterlock, DRL Relay Coil, Speed Control Module, Backup Lamps, Trailer Tow backup Lamp Relay Coil, Electronic shift on the Fly Hub Lock Solenoid, Vacuum Pump Motor"
I installed extra back up lights, and burned out the same fuse last winter in the process, but haven't had a problem since. Is there an easy way to find out what could be the cause if the extra backup lights look ok?

Thanks
Matt

How are the aux BU lights connected? If you are using the same power as what is for the Tailights, then yes, that is probably the cause, if there is a relay in the circuit to pull power from something else, then something else is probably causing the fuses to blow.

Thanks Mike.

The AUX BU lights are connected to the existing BU lights via a splicing clamp that came with the kit. It was sort of a punch down type connector like you would see for phone line or computer network cable. You put it over shielded wire, squeeze with pliers and it taps into the existing wire.

Before I left work, I looked at the AUX lights and one was bent inward probably from backing into a snowy parking space during the winter. I double checked connections, and replaced the fuse. All 4 BU lights were operable and no blown fuse on the way home! I think I need to double check the ground wire when I've got some grubby clothes on.

I don't think I'd buy another one of these kits, it didn't provide much help. I see you have some possibly halogen lights on your truck, how happy are you with those? I like a lot of light.

Blessings!
Matt

D-Cell,
The Halogens are alright, they do their job in lighting up my drive way, live on a slab lot, when it rains, its hard to tell the driveway from the lawn, and I was tired of replacing sprinkler heads.

I thinks if I was to do it again, I would look for 100Watt lamps, both the ones I have are 55W. Maybe a little different style, something that would be easier to adjust the beam placement on.

Just a suggestion, you might want to put a relay in place for you BU lights, you can pull the power from the trailer battery charge feed, it is protected by a 30A fuse and is relayed as well. I put an aux. switch to my BU lights, nice when hooking up trailers, or whatever in the dark.
