i have a 91 f150, and am interested in getting it lifted. i am new to the whole "offroad truck game" and was wondering what the difference between a body and suspension lift? also, what do i need to have done to the tranny, speedometer, etc. because of the larger tires? thanks
Go with a 6" suspension lift and 35" tires. You will want to get the truck regeared to 4.56 gears, so you will be able to maintain your power level and low end torque. If you do the regear and have the money buy lockers front and rear. The speedometer will have to be recalibrated as well. If serious offroading get a good tranny cooler with an electric fan to keep your temp down and go with a temp guage for your tranny so you can monitor this. Heat kills trannys! I would advise against the body lift if your serious about 4 wheeling.
