trany swap

has anyone done the swap from C6 to AOD behind a 460 in 79 F150 4x4 what problems did you have and any tips that might help. Thanks for any input. P.S. useing a married 205 T-case.

Question Aod swap

Has anyone done the swap from C-6 to AOD in 79 F150 4x4 with 460 and np205. what if anything can you tell me about this swap. ie. will 205 bolt to trany, where can you find bellhousing or is it one piece like C6. thanks in advance for any help.

The AOD will cost a lot to make it as strong and reliable as a C6 with the torque and hp a 460 will put out. You might just want to get a Gear Vendor unit and have a super strong 6 speed C6.

There is an excellent and very complete discussion of this swap written by Danny Cabral in the archives. I found it by entering "C-6 to AOD 429". His was on a Bronco - but same difference. (Not cheap - but sounds great.)
