Not familiar with the 3, but there is a site dedicated to swaps involving the 4BT, with the expected name of 4btswaps.com.
There were a lot of applications for these engines, but a lot that were in bread vans were adapted to GM and Ford transmissions. The Ford version bolted in where a 300 came from, while the GM version replaced a small block. The back of the 4bt is the same as the 6bt as used in Dodge trucks, so the Dodge bellhousing adapter and flywheel will bolt right on as well.
Heavy and noisy, and hard to find. If you've got a truck (and not something smaller, like a Bronco II or a Jeep), why not swap in a 6BT? They're not much heavier, make a lot more power, and there's *tons* of aftermarket. Plus they don't sound like you're driving a backhoe.
