Can I use Your Truck/Car
Is he trustworthy? Is he a good driver? Is he responsible? I'd ask myself those questions first. If you can be sure he won't drive it recklessly putting the car, not to mention himself in danger, I would allow it. If you aren't sure, though, don't do it. Prom night can get a little crazy with drinking and stuff like that and you don't want him to wrap himself around a tree (in any car for that matter). Just my $.02.

What does he drive now? Is he used to the power of the vet? Prom night I rember them well and even the sane and boring kids got dads cars sideways leaving the parking lot. Keep him around alittle while longer and you go out and break something on it so he cant drive it.

Like Mgazak posted,

Prom night can get a little crazy with drinking and stuff like that and you don't want him to wrap himself around a tree (in any car for that matter). Just my $.02.
If yes to all of those I would let him take it for a day before the prom and get the initial rush of driving it out of his system and also tell him that you will have friends keeping an eye on him that night.
You could also make it run really bad so it hads no power....LOL
Prom night is a big night for the kids.

Well, like many have said, if he's trustworthy and you know he won't mess with it, go ahead. You should take him for a ride in it and let him drive with you in the car. If he even blips the throttle once, that means he's going to do alot more than that on prom night. Trust me, I'm 18 and my prom is saturday. However, if he just cruises it and you can tell he's digging the ride, not the power then he's probobly okay. Also, look at his car. If it's just some beater, then that probobly means he knows nothing about cars and just likes it because it's a 'vette. If he drives a nicer car and he hand washes it, put tire black on it and things like that, I'd trust him with it.

One of my nephews is trustworthy, responsible, level headed... and what ever else you want to call it... but he's inexperienced. He borrowed the tractor here on the farm and with one tooth on the bucket caught my sister's car and ripped a nice hole in the side. He is allowed to operate the heavy machinery, but only away from all other vehicles and structures, he needs experience.
Same thing applies to this case, and my answer would be no, not a classic. I'd loan him a '98 Mustang before I'd ever loan my ( wife's ) '65 Mustang.
