I have the sport flint cloth in my FX4. My seats show a water ring, if they slightly get wet in one spot. Example, rode jetski, put a towel in the seat, there was a water spot about 2" in diameter when I got out of the truck, when it dried, there was a ring. My 2000 model's seats never did this. When I tried to get rid of the ring with some "safe" cleaner it turned the ring into a solid spot again. I took the truck to a detail shop and they used something that got the spot out. I ride my jetski alot and do not want to go through this every damn time I get in the truck. Should I treat the seats with scotchguard or something? Thanks.

I treated mine with scotchguard... pretty painless.
There's also a cleaner made by woolite that works wonders. It's an aerosol can with a small trigger on top. Whatever the contents are, they oxidize on the way out and perform a chemical reaction to attack the stain. Works wonders on fruit juice, blood, etc... Also works great in the house!
It's in a light blue can and can be found in auto section at wal-mart.

I had the same problem. All I used was GLO dish washing soap and the spots were gone. I tried everything to get the spots off, but it seemed to make the it bigger. The soap works great.
If you jetski alot, you may want to think about neoprene seat covers, there in all the trucking magazines, and the internet seat cover places....I think they look great and are resistant to water etc...
Stephen, that is a good idea. I will have to check that out. I was so aggrevated yesterday I was thinking about getting some custom aftermarket leather installed. My wife hit a jackpot in Tunica, Missisippi which really made me want to get some leather. Thanks for the replies guys.
i have the same problem in my FX4 if i would have know that water stains my cloth seats i would have got leather... (but i have 2 dogs) i have the captains chairs in my Screw and its a task itself finding seat covers that will fit..... especially in this small town i live in.... has anyone found and good seat covers that would fit???....
I always avoided leather seats because of my large dogs, but my 2000 Explorer came with leather and the dogs were all over it with no harm done at all. Actually they were easier to keep clean than cloth seats, which always turned into hair-magnets. Of course my new Lariat always gets a blanket in the seat before the dog gets in now.
Are you running in salt water? You might try just getting the rest of the seat wet. Maybe the discoloration will become uniform and won't bother you anymore. I got mine wet twice and no problems yet...
