Idle/start problem
F 150 88 67,000 on a rebuilt engine 67,000 miles ago. I have replaced throttle body. Fuel pressure regulater,fuel filter. Sometimes when I try to start my truck in the morning after it has sat for 6 hour or more it will turn over but will not strt until the I stop and try and strt it for the second time. When it does strt the idle is very high for 20 seconds or so and than it just dies. It almost acts like someone shut the fuel off to the engine. When I try and strt it again it starts but hte idle surges until it finally quits. Once it is warmed up it idles fine. Any suggestions on where to look next would be of great help. I thought it might be a vacum leak the way it idles,but haven't found anything obvious. Recently noticed at highway speed or above it sounds like I am getting a back fire in the engine compartment. Thanks for any help.
