No Forward or Reverse
I have a 91 Ford Explorer,4wd automatic. The transmission had been slow to shift in the morning for about a week,one night when I was coming home and turned a corner it quit, no forward or reverse-nothing.We towed it home and the next day my husband changed the fluid and filter(bought it used recently and rebuilt motor). The fluid was pretty nasty, but no metal in the pan. He put in 4 qts of transmission fluid, but still no transmission.This vehicle seems to flood out easily and the night this happened, the battery went dead after I tried to restart it. Now when we checked the tramission fluid level, it is too full.Is there a easy solution? Is there a check list somewhere to start off with , without having to pull the transmission? Thanks in advance for any help you can give us.
