Finally....a kit!

I finally decided on a leveling kit for my truck. I ordered the 2.5 kit from Summit.
Now, does anyone have any 4" rear blocks they want to give me a deal on before I head to the parts dept. ?

From everything I read on here, this combination should level my truck and allow me to run some 315's.

I priced the blocks a while back but was wondering if anyone had any take-offs lying around that they won't need. Thanks.

If you off road at all, I wouldn't count on 315's and a leveling kit to be enough.

Your call, way to close for me...

No real tricky stuff, just an occasional hunting path.

I have been researching this thing for about 3 mos. and from what I read and see in a few photo's this is about what I'm looking for.

From everything I have read about this particuliar kit, it is more of a lift than a leveling kit.

Correct me if Im wrong but if you put the 2.5 in the front to level the truck, but it also requires a 1" add-a-leaf or an F350(4") block in the rear to actually level the truck, wouldn't this actually be gaining some height overall ?

I'm no rocket scientist, as some you obviously think you are, but do the math!

And several people have posted better(higher) results than what the kit says it will do.

But what do I know, I'm just a freshman user asking redundant questions.

I put that 2.5" Summit Kit on my 99 F250 SD w/ 5.4 and as you said, I ended up with more than a level, it sat high in the front, about an extra inch. I gave it time to settle and it never did, until I put the plow back on in the winter, then it leveled back out.

When would a leveling kit be necessary? I have a stock '04 250 with both FX4 and snow plow packages... the truck looks like it sits pretty level already.

Since you have the plow package, X springs, your sitting pretty level as it is.

People like to level it when the truck comes with a lesser spring combo, it seems to sit nose low.

Yeti, here's a question for ya.

My U-bolts on the rear of my truck have about 2 inches of thread remaining after the nut is installed, with the 2 inch block.

Is this common? Have you ever dealt with this before?

And If I get the F350 4 inch block do I need new U-bolts also? It looks like I could go to the 4 inch blocks and use these U-bolts.

I think I will go do some scouting on some other SD's tomorrow to see what I can see.

You will need the u-bolts for the 4" blocks from what I understand.

And if I may interject a question here, what are the "x springs"? I didn't think the FX4 pkg. gave you different springs. Or do they come with the plow pkg.?

I leveled out my 2004 F350 with 315/70R's on it by replacing the 4" block in the rear springs with a set of 2" blocks the guy had at the spring shop. I don't
go off-roading so I got lots of room. It looks good.

Yes, it is common to have "extra" thread remaining, I usually re tourqe them after a hundred miles and then use a cut off wheel to get rid of the excess.

Any time you remove the Ubolts, technicaly you shoud repalce them, they do strech, and if nylock nuts are used, they should be replaced also.
