ARE Camper shell

I just ordered an ARE Camper Shell from News At Eleven. I originally was going to go with in KC but they wanted me to drive there to verify my VIN and color. I guess some customers have left them hanging blaming wrong colors on them or something. So when I called the News guys they gave me a quote $200 cheaper so I jumped on it (and saved myself a 2 hour drive just to check my VIN and color code).

I took a peak at their ordering book while one of the mechanics was writing up the invoice since the normal guy had not come in yet, and it basically said to just add 5% over their prices. Then I knocked off an additional $79 by registering on ARE's web site.

Cool, sounds like you got a good deal. Shell should look good on the truck. How long will it take?

They said 4-5 weeks. I am going to see if they can pull off my Ford and King Ranch emblems off my tail gate and put it on the camper shell since I got the full walk in door.

I got the CX camper with full walk in door, side screen vents, light acrylic lining, and Ducks Unlimited option and the coupon gave me the clothes rack, interior light, and tilt down front slinding window with tax and installation it came to $2300. The KC place wanted $2500.

The ducks unlimited is just a sticker, t-shirt, and hat and part of the proceeds are donated to Ducks Unlimited. I figured what the hay. Get a neat sticker and my unle will really like the hat and shirt (maybe he will give me a few birds this hunting season).

Yea some people say Chux's is the place but i have found out they are a little higher on prices and dont offer what others do. I know SOME of you talk highly of them but i cant agree with ya. If ya shop around im sure you'll find someone wantin your business that will cut ya a deal!!

may be higher with regard to costs, but for me it is the people who run their organization, that make choosing Chux an easy one. Chris and the guys at Chux are dedicated and love trucks and truck parts just as much as their customers, if not more.

True I would like to find a shop like that for other truck stuff but camper shells seem simple and hard to mess up. Plus they are a 2.5 hr drive for me.

Well every one has reasons for where they do buisness.. For me is the customer service. Dave and the rest of the staff there are really Enthusiast just like us. Granted I have spent a lot of money there, But they warrenty every thing I buy for life of my truck regardless of the manufacturers warrenty. So saving a buck or two is nice but if it cost you more in the future then did you really save anything? Just my 2¢...

Well i dont know which one you all deal with but everytime ive gone into the Olathe one them guys are kinda snoty and dont really seem like they want your money. Thats why i have found other places to deal with that give me the same deals or better the them. I cant deal with people like that and i have the choice not too, just how i feel about them!!
