has any one else here seen the valve covers with the oil ports in them. i'm talking about the ones with the oil lines to hose the valve springs with oil. is there any real benifit from these and ifso how well do they work?
Just pictures.
They work if you need them. In other words, if your valve springs are fatique failing and you got the best you can all ready, you got to get cool to them and that's one way to do it. The overwhelming majority of us never run high enough RPM's for a long enough time to cause the springs to loose tension.
MY valve springs? no. lol I never see over 5500 RPM.
IMHO, this is strictly for the high-rpm endurance racing people and there is nothing to be gained if the spring is not being operated beyond its design limits.
when i go to the drags i like to set my shift light for about 6300 rpms. other than that the car doesn't see over 5500 rpms to often.( except for the occasional ricer thinking hes fast)thanks for the info.
