the only thing i had to do is get the hose from my truck not the lightning kit around the meter. i just remembered that. it is straight the lightning is z shaped. sorry

The throttle body configuration does matter - the regular truck intake has a twin throttle body, so the hoses must have a 'y' in them to split off from the single MAF meter - the lightning has a single bore throttle body and doesn't have this y-pipe in the kit, which would have to be bought separately. If you have the lightning kit, the computer is for the E4OD, an electronically controlled automatic (unless the thing uses two computers - is this the case?). If the kit piggybacks computers to be able to run the transmission, then only running the engine computer included in the kit would allow you to run a manual transmission (or non electronic auto). Is that what you are talking about?

im sorry. i keep forgetting that my truck was a single tube already. if you get the lightning kit. the only thing you need to do is get the y tube-to-single from a californian truck. speed density is 2 hoses. all you need is the y & some straight hose from there. i will see if i still have mine to take a pic of. as for the computer. just one. you remove your stock one & place this one in. then inbetween your stock harness & the new computer there is a jumper to add the mass air plug,temp plug,& injectors. the computer does not know there is not tranny there. but i did have to leave the wires that go to the tranny & set the switch to park so it would start. so if you have a noncomp controlled teanny you are all set.
