Let me put it like this here-

Do you see a lot of good info on this board?

And would you want your buddies to get at that for themselves, so they don't bug you for it all the time? And besides - they might find something you didn't...

WE need to dig in deeper than chiggers....

Y'Know?

Well -

If we set a fixed date and time, the forum itself can have a meeting thread that would be a heckuvva way to keep track of what's said.

That way if anyone is out of town, they can catch up. Maybe the first friday of the month, sometime after dinner or something like that.

Tennessee is a loooong state, and even if there was a chapter house in the middle of it - that would be a lot of fuel... (Can you tell I've been thinking about it?)

Sub-chapters by county might be another story though - I'm sure a lot of y'all have wondered what it's like to meet up with another FTE member in the flesh, and I've done that a few times. I tell you what - it isn't like those internet horror stories we read about. Without exception everyone I've met have been real nice folks!

Okay, sorry that I've been away for so long. I'm back now and I'm ready to get this on track.

- Wolf, I got your PM. Thanks, and I will respond ASAP.

Now, to get the ball rolling... Who in the Tennessee forum has the slightest interest in getting together and having a meeting? I figure if a good few come aboard, we can all come together and work something out.

I'm with Wolf. Tennessee is a long state. From my rough estimate, from end to end, Tennessee is around 500-550 miles long. That is quite a chunk of fuel. Sub-Chapters is an excellent idea to me. We could get together every 1-2 months within our assigned sub-community and then get the whole chapter together 2-3 times out of each year.

Each sub-chapter could have an assigned "Leader", "President", "Chairman", etc. and each leading official from each sub-chapter could meet every two months or so to keep up with what's going on within their group and to come up with ideas for our big git'together's.

How is all of this sounding to ya'll?

If our members show divine interest, I make a motion to move forward in creating, maintaining, and enjoying an FTE Tennessee Member Chapter.

Dunno if "LEADER", "CHAIRMAN", and so on trips my trigger - other folk have that.

We are the volunteer state, and we believe in honesty and most of all - PEOPLE.

How about this here:

Chapter Head

And County Club Representatives (CCR's) -
To voice what we know from the feedback we get?

Each group adds to the collective whole, and helps get word out to those in their community?

We can piece together a mail list if we want to, and offline discussion can happen, I suppose. But the best thing of all is if members begin to meet in local counties and townships, to share what they know and help one another out.

I know for dang sure that I have tools others of us don't!

That's the reason that I put "Leader", "Chairman", etc. in quotations... I didn't know what to use at the time.

I really like the Chapter Head and the County Club Represenative (CCR). Each county should have an assigned CCR, and each state division, (West, Middle, and East TN), should have a Chapter Head. Then, we can elect a Chapter "President" to hold the statewide meetings.

Hence "President" is in quotations...

How is all of this sounding?

It sounds realistic to me -

Like I said- Tennessee is a long drive if we wanted to ALL get together in the same place. By setting up regions, we can make local happenings happen a lot more often and a lot more economically what with fuel as high as it is these days.

It also makes sense if someone needs a hand or doesn't have a tool, or wants an assist planning out a modification to have local FTE contacts that are close enough to just scoot across town and drop on by!

And until I get my first paycheck at the new job - I definitely ain't got a "Mr Fusion" connected to my flux capacitor quite yet! >:oD

I dropped a dime in the user announcements area, but I think it was moved for some reason.

-Checking on it, maybe it was considered dirty pool

I figured out where it went. It was moved to the General Chapter Discussion Forum.

Kewl, Wolf. Everything, so far, seems to be going our way. Maybe now we can get this show on and rolling!

We need to get out on the street, and begin talkin' at people around us.

I know I got one lady to join, but don't know how often she surfs.

(She has a really classic F-100, about mid 70's)

East Tenn. Chapter

Nightrain or Greywolf, I would be interested in a Chapter in the Knoxville area. There is alot of Ford guys and girls in Knoxville and surrounding area. Right now my truck is not ready yet, maybe in 2 months or so. I plan on entering it in the F-100 Supernationals in Knoxville in May. Please see my post in the 1968 Forum under (My Dads 68 is now my 68). It is about 3 or 4 pages in. I might be interested in getting a meeting started if I knew what to do.

main thing is to get people to even look into the forums here -

Once they do, they sold on it! We really do have everthang about a ford ever built, and the people that restored them here to draw on. And all the advice seems to hit dead on!

I can say from what i've seen here: FTE has a higher rate of success than most dealerships.

But we don't charge for it.
And the older the vehicle, the more accurate we are - as opposed to tech abilities becoming outmoded...
