sounds like a blast, although, I dont know that I would wanna take the kids though (might get in the way of you getting to play with the toys).

I have in the past worked at JPL for months at a time, it is a very good place to get young kids interested in Space and Exploration. Academia type of atmosphere.
Lots of walking!
