New Exhaust
Planning on getting my exhaust rebuilt for my 1970 Bronco. It has a rebuilt 302 V8. Was wondering if anyone has had this done and what it cost? I plan to have the manifolds replaced with Hooker Headers and dual flowmaster 40 mufflers. Getting it done at a local speed shop. Any ideas? I was quoted around $1000.Thanks.

There is no way to give you a cost, because each speed shop can vary greatly on their labor rates, as well as actual costing of components. What size tubing will the system be? Mandrel bent? That does sound a bit high to me. You might want to get an itemized list from them for costing purposes. You could shop around the other local exhaust and speed shops to see if they can give you a more competitive quote. You might also think about purchasing the components from the web, and merely have one of these shops install it for you.
