I don't think so. I looked at the diagram, and the difference is, the later switch plug has an extra wire. The 80-81 has a black/orange that feeds the headlights AND the running lights. The headlights and the running lights are jumped together inside at the switch.
The later truck harness has an extra tan/white wire that feeds the headlamp switch for the running lights portion. It has it's own seperate fuse, so your later model truck has one more fuse in the fuse box for this circuit. The black/orange is still there, but it's job is the headlights only on the later switch.
