Ok. I had wheel locks on my bronco. I was planning on taking them off but never got around to it. I've had my top off and I am usually very good about putting it back in the glove compartment when I'm done with them. they are not there anymore. Is there a way i could drill them out, or somethings? Any ideas would be much appreciated since i have to change the brake pads. Thanks
Take an old socket that barely fits on the locking lug and pound it on with a hammer. That should give you enough grip to get the lug off. Once it is loose but still on the truck, get the socket off (it will be hard to get off when it is off the truck, a vise helps). You may need to go through a couple of sockets.
Another approach might be to go on ebay and see if you can find a set similar to the ones on your rims, buy a set and get a key, I've looked there only around $10.00 plus shipping could be cheaper than sockets
The key is not always the same - I think there are several possible keys for each set.
You could try a tire shop. Sometimes they keep a bunch of keys around for this. Many times they use the socket trick, that is where learned it. They are usually able to get the socket off and reuse it.
J- I was talking about the acorn looking ones, they looked like they used a Tork type key, others had this funny looking long twisted socket, I have a extra FORD key of my 96 EB, if this is what he lost. I had a Friend who sold a el camino to some one and never told them he lost the lock to his cragers mags I wonder how he got those off

You can probably get a vise grip on the wheel locks. There should be enough room to grab and turn once you've taken the center cap off. Good luck.
I had the same problem, but on my spare. I didnt have a key for it, and it had a wheel lock on it. O'reileys (sp?) has a tool that will take it off. Mine was completely smooth on the outside and had a three sided curved star in the center. I had to take it to a tire shop and they welded a lugnut onto it, then just took it off that way. It was a PITA but it worked. Vise grips may work unless its smooth on the outside like mine was.
Thanks. for all the tips. I will try it out and get back to you all. My wheellocks were aftermarket so they are smooth on the outside and have a 12 pointed star on the lugnut. we'll see how it goes. Thanks again guys.
