I wish it were that easy, if we could just obliterate anyone or anything that stood in our way . . . wait a minute we can, maybe it's a sign of superiority that we aren't. The one thing that a lot of peple fail to realize, especially with what's going on now is that we are in the spotlight. The U.S has the policies like quartering and caring for POWs, our Rules of Engagement, and Law of Armed Conflict because we have to show the rest of the world that what we are doing isn't for greed or power. We do it because we believe in Freedom and Liberty, and the same standards we hold our enemies to, apply to us and the rest of the world.
I don't mean any offense, really, I'm just passionate about the topic. The things I am saying are meant to educate in Army Doctrine. Many of the critics of our military really don't understand the facts.
This isn't going anywhere good, I respect your opinion and your right to have it. Have a good day,
Well spoken david.brady:
Often the best man is the man who shows compassion and understanding rather than might! It is easy to say, "Kill all the terrorists then we will end terrorism." IMO we need to educate the world by demonstarting understanding, ethical treatment of those who oppose us and fair and firm justice for all who break the laws whether they be our citizens or world citizens.
Dave, I respect your point of view, and you are 100% correct. We are in the spotlight and the world would castrate us if we busted out the nukes. We'll never use 'em as a first strike weapon.
I'd just like to see that area of the planet put in line and our troops come home. So, nuke 'em! But I'm not in charge, nor will I ever be... so I can only say nuke 'em, not actually do it. Good thing I'm not in office!
