Non-Power steering

How bad is it really not having power steering. I have a 75 F-100 with power steering, a friend gave me his non power steering box and i was gonna put it on my truck to get rid of the pump, i rebuilt my power steering box and its leaking again worn sector and bearings i guess. Is it really that bad without it.

you'll regret it later when trying to manuever through tight spots. However, after much use you'll have bigger arms than the rest of your body and will be able to bench-press your truck on the driveway. heheh..

Im doing the opposite on my truck. Just bought a powersteering conversion kit from Scott Ibeling after almost having my thumbs broken off when hitting a few rocks and potholes on my 73.

The manual steering wouldnt be so bad if you have small tires in both diameter and width. Isnt the steering wheel a bit bigger on non-powersteering models? I have a Manual steering gear box, pitman arm, draglink and steering wheel from mine if anyone's interested in the southern california area.

non-power box

hi,
is the manual box different from the box that came on trucks with power assist (that is, the power ram/control valve design)? i figured the box itself was the same as a manual box since all the assist is coming from the ram, not the box. maybe they're different ratios?
