Has anyone in cyber-world installed Hooker Headers part number 6914HKR on a 78 F350 2wd Camper Special w/ automatic?
At this point it looks like I'm stuck with Hedmans, but don't want to pay the price for Elites, and don't want to buy the 1/4 flanged Street series either.
Regular Hedmans...you mean the 1/4" flange and 16g tubes? Well that's good news! Did you do alot of towing or heavy hauling with it? I've been hearing stay away from 1/4" flange in heavy working applications because of poor sealing related to high heat.
Didn't get a chance to do much towing but they survived the AZ heat. (I know not the same.. lol) I used the copper hi-temp permatex with good gaskets. The only problem I had was collector gaskets. The cheap fiber ones don't last. Finally switched to a copper ring type and never had another leak.
Nope, didn't try L&L - I haven't heard of them yet. All bets are off now though....I picked up a 460 + C6 trans today for 170 bucks. Don't know the condition of either yet, except they don't look bad. The heads are C9VES.
