I am the general manager for a local ambulance service and we have 2
1994 e-350's 7.3 ds and in the warm weather it starts great but after
a transport we shut it off and then it wont start again. Turns over
great though. Any ideas Ford cant seem to find the problem.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-Apr-02 AT 06:01 PM (EST)]Wish I knew the answer. We too had the same problem on our 91 E350 bus. Never did figured out the problem. And we had it everywhere. We tried the fuel pump and fuel cut-off switch. We susspected the injector pump but never tried it, sent it to the bone yard when the tranny crapped out.
(edit) another thing: we would use starting fluid on it when it was warm to start it.
Sounds like a minor fuel or electrical problem. If you have a simple volt/ohm meter and are mechanically inclined, pick up a copy of Haynes Diesel Techbook #10330 and slog your way through the troubleshooting section. If your '94 happens to be a non-Power Stroke, your odds of finding and fixing the problem yourself are much higher.
