Thanks for the welcome guys.. I think I'm registered for the OC, actully the first thing I did..Anyhow, I'm located in Columbus. Grove City at the moment..Hopefully soon to be living in Whitehall which is on the east side of Columbus. Workin on getting my first house.. Also, if you guys need anything or help let me know.. I have just about everything but a garage.Welder, torches, tubing bender, and more various metal working tools.
Torches do come in mighty handy.. Im thinking about building something that can be loaded into the bed of my truck with a forklift..somethin that will hold all my big tools..welder,torches,generator, etc.. all in one self contained skid I guess..gives me a good reason to get to know my tubing bender a little better too. I havent played with it much. Maybe see about making a fancy headache bar as well.. Anyone have any ideas on this?
Columbus can't be too much more confusing than Dayton..I spent alot of time out there latley. Our company just opened an office there and they have been keeping me busy..You may have seen us out there a month or two ago. We were doing the drilling along I-75 near downtown Dayton. That is one scary stretch of Highway where 75 and 4 split and the northbound curve.. I was a nervous wreck on that job.
yep its called malfunction junction , , what type of drilling was it?
It's geotechnical.soil sampling for the re-design and widening of that area..they plan to straighten the curve and add a long retaining wall on each side of the highway I beleive..that was only the first phase of our drilling..We should be back out there before too long. We do alot of engineering work for ODOT and lots more for construction and the housing industry. Pretty interesting work, hard anyways. makes it nice having almost the entire line of superduty trucks for support vehicles. everything from the F250 up to the 650, minus the 550.Dont have one of them yet.
i,m a rep in the tool rental side of the construction and deal with ODOT sometimes, especially the bridge deck guy's and other's. mostly its the rental house's here in Ohio and KY.
from aa saftey? i sell the Allmand brand. we need to meet some time and talk shop, maybe you'll be at one of O.C.'s meeting's? id like to learn more about soil sampling.

First off welcome to the O.C.
Shouldn't I be wealthy if I live in the O.C.?
Now to my real comments
Have you thought about making a slide in tool box? Kind of like a slide in truck camper. Put all your tools in this box, jack it up, back you truck under it and lower the jacks. No need for a fork lift. I've been toying with this idea for about a year now. I use my 96 F350 crew cab for hauling my cars around with. When I actually get a garage I will be making a Rally Car. In Performance Rally, trailers are a pain in the rearend to take to service areas, so alot of Pro Rally racers use vans or cube vans to haul there tools, spares and tow the car. I'm not that wealthy and I don't want to buy a vehicle for one purpose only, yet. Do you get what I'm saying?
