You should have just got your camcorder and filmed him dumping the tires. 10 tires = 10 counts of littering and at $500 per count is around $5k fine I think. He would not do it again.

I went to walmart and bought a $4 or $5 trash bag that hangs in the truck (How cool is it that the '04 Fords actually have a trash bag holder hook thingy right on the dash???!! Way to go Ford!) The trash bag is black and silver, has a velcro flap to keep it closed, is lined on the inside w/plastic or vinyl so it's easy to clean, and doesn't detract from the 'niceness' of the interior of the truck. It actually matches the two tone cloth sport interior exactly. It's easy to reach, keeps the truck clean, and no need to throw even the smallest piece of trash out the window. I can't understand why people don't just spend a couple of bucks and keep their trash contained. So stupid. Heck, for that matter, save the couple of bucks and just use the plastic walmart bag and hang it from the dash! I actually keep a few of the walmart bags under the back seat of the truck for when I go to the beach. They hold quite a few crushed cans. Fill 'em up and before I leave I toss 'em into the trash can on my way off the beach. No sweat. A buddy of mine always brings full sized trash bags to the beach and ties one to the tailgate for everyone around him to use. He also brings a large coffee can for everyones cigarrette butts.
It doesn't take that much effort to put trash where it belongs. Just my .02

Did they leave anything with their name on it? If they did, I'd go 'return it.'

I hate littering. I live in a very rural area and I am constantly picking up beer cans, bottles and assorted other debris that people have tossed out into my yard. Last year, I found a used home pregnancy test out front. That was bad news, because I didn't want to pick it up, but it was worse news for whoever used it. There was a big blue '+' in the window.

I awlays thought the rusting vehicles and appliances in the front yard growing weeds was a joke until I went to visit a friend in South Carolina and passed a house that looked like a glorified garden shed with 5-6 rusting vehicles, water heater, and either stove, washer, or drying in the front. But the 4x4 truck in the driveway was pretty sweet looking. Gues he had his priorities set.

I used to go fishing alot in ponds and places in the area. Just about every where you went I would find empty beer cans and bottles, cigarette butts all over the place, and just all kinds of trash. That just drives me crazy. I go out to these places to enjoy nature and have to look at all this trash laying around. Some people are just so lazy they could care less about anything or anyone else.

I think that littering, stupidity and laziness are all directly related. Cigarette butts on the beach is the worst.

Infuriates me to no end, just as easy to throw it on your own floorboards.

That's the reason many land owners around here no longer allow people to fish/hunt on the land they own. Sad, but I understand.

The only thing I've thrown out of my car window is ice (the soda cup went onto the floor). And maybe a frenchfry or two. Figured I'd give the crows a side dish to go with their road-kill-stew.

That is why I love my plastic floor mats. All trash just goes on the floor and then when I get to a trash can (home or gas station) I clean it up.

But what are you supposed to say to litters when they won't listen. Went out this weekend with friends, who think it is ok to litter and will frequently throw their trash out the window. Drives me nuts!!
