This all reminds me of an 73 Datsun Pickup truck I had back in the late 70s. I was working in a High Performance machine shop at the time that built aluminum 392 and 427 Hemi heads for drag racing, so I was able to build my engine with the help of the shop I was working at. I had built a 2000cc Datsun 4 banger for in the truck and put everything possible in it, higher compression pistons, bigger valves, full port and polish, huge cam, hooker header, bigger exhaust, etc. I was running two sidedraft Webers that totaled 850cfm on this little 4 banger. This thing would red line at around 7500. So, you can imagine what the idle quality was on a cam that spun that high. The thing about a 4 banger with a big bump stick is that it just sounded like it ran like crap, not like it was high performance. To top the whole show, it also had a 100 hp shot of juice on it. I have no idea what the HP rating was, but it screamed. It was always entertaining, sitting at a light in a primered Datsun, and have someone with almost anything , 8 cylinder, 6, 4 it dident really matter start revvin their engine, looking over and laughing their butts off. The last laugh was almost always on them as this thing smoked the tires, and screamed ahead of them like they were standing still. I had several come up after and want to see the V8 hiding under the hood! Surprised them when all that was there was a 4 banger. Most of the time though, a good night of raing meant a tow home. I broke everything under the sun in that thing, trannys, rear ends, drivelines, I think the junk yard kept me a spare rear end by the front door!I had a adjustable cam spocket that wasent made for the nitrous hit and sheared off all the little bolts on it once, tossing all the valves into the pistons. There were many other busted parts including a melt down from the nitrous, last time for the juice on that one. Like I said, it would scream ahead of them most of the time...the rest of the time you were sittin there at the light trying to figure out what broke this time! I wouldent trade it for nothing though, I had a blast with that truck. At that time, there wearnt any "rice rockets". Honda dident exist in the states then, so no one had been building any of the Japanese stuff up. No one had a clue that a little crappy looking import truck was even a speck of possible compitition! Anyhow, I just thought I'd tell you guys that story, this thread brought me back...

proeliator, you're going to like HighAngle's driveshaft's,Jesse definetly know's his stuff. There a work of art.I recently switched to the 1350 series for my Bronco, haven't had any more problem's.
Well, I feel a bit better. My driveline rolled in today and I see by reading the replies I'm in good company with my lack of wise dealing with the little red guy
I've been beating on the 1.5 ton high angle driveline from Jess for roughly half a year now and it hasn't let me down. You guys know how hard I am on parts and I couldn't be more pleased with this driveline. Zero problems, zero failures. I rate it four out of four boggers
Jess' patented c/v joint uses 1350s. But I upgraded to the 1410 at the yoke, as well as the thicker wall tube. He said he usually only goes the heavy wall for the rock crawlers who drop down on the dl but it couldn't hurt with my hp/tq level
did ya know you can beat a corvette through the light with 4 low neutral drops with the front hubs unlocked....he smokes ya after you twist your rear yoke off....but its fun tryin...
