60 F100 Front End
Thanks
I have a '59 with a '88 Dodge Dakota IFS on it w/ disc brakes. The '88 Dakota had a 3.8L V-6. I have a 302 V-8. Though the weight difference isn't humongous, I have to sense that it does make a difference in the stopping ability of the Dakota IFS on my truck. In other words, it's adequate, but not wonderful. It's 100% better than the drum brakes that it had originally, but I'm kind of a stickler for safety (and am probably spoiled by the braking systems of '90s and up cars/trucks), so I like brakes that really BITE when you hit 'em hard.
You might want to go with a setup out of a V-8 Camaro. Another option is the Volare, but you might only get the same stopping power as the Dakota with that. (I'm sure someone will confirm or deny this shortly!)...
