ppl here are always saying that the cummins is far to superior then the powerstroke and ranking both yah the cummins gots 600ft lbs so what it cant use that with a dirt poor tranny so whats the use in braggin it up and i do my best in defending my ford whatever the costs
I understand your point. But it's hard to argue with numbers. People who got'em - like'em. And it appears to be in the shop far far less then the PSD's
Yes Ford Lariat I would have to agree with you there. Fords still the No.1 diesel sold. One big reason the superduty. Nothing compares to it. Its THE truck. Nothing compares to it. Its hands down the ultimate truck. Put a superduty next to a dodge whoo the superduty blows dodge a way on looks, interior comfort. A better all around truck. What would you buy if you could put the two together in a side by side comparison. Of course the superduty.
I have no doubt that Ford will up the numbers to top Cummins in the near future. I think there are far fewer problems in reality with the 6.0 PSD that websites like this would have you believe. I see a ton of them on the road and the people I've talked to haven't had any problems with them.
I still think that the Cummins is NOT the best engine for a light duty truck because of the power curve in an I-6. The Cummins is really designed to be mated to a larger transmission. I've driven my bosses new Dodge/Cummins and it is much better than the previous Cummins, but I'll keep my PSD. The power curve of the PSD is much better suited for use in a light duty truck. Ford does sell a lot of PSD's because of the truck, but also because of the engine. International is just as big a name in the diesel world as Cummins and they have been around for an almost identical period of time.
Hey johnsdiesel nice comments there. You when theres no more problems with the 6.0. Peoplewill still say there are problems. I know of several people myself and they have had no issues at all. What is it with your boss is he a dodge fan what Why not ford?
He likes the Cummins. I don't think his loyalty goes any further than that. If it wasn't for Cummins, Dodge would have even less of the market than they manage to capture in third place now.
Exactly Cummins and Hemi only thing Dodge has got going for them. I should just say cummins. Hemi is the most overated engine I have ever seen. The new hemi is nothing like the old. Not even close.
One of the two (Cummins or Hemi) aren't selling at all, or either are selling like crap. Dodge really needs something impressive to start catching up on truck sales, be it heavy duty, 1/2 ton or both.
I agree totally. Its been a good marketing ploy for dodge though to sell trucks. Was reading over on the dodge forum and a guy with a hemi raced a lightning. The lightning creamed him it wasnt even close. The guy in the hemi was dumbfounded. His cockiness sure disappeared in a hurrey. I hate these cocky dodge guys and believe me they are cocky.
Seems we have a few Dodge guys posing as Ford owners on this website. You know the type, they only post on topics having to do with Cummins and have little to no posts in any other forum or on any other topic. I won't mention names...
