After many trips to the dealer and hours there, I finally got to talk to the tech that was working on my truck. Little did I know I had raced with him for years and had no clue he worked the dealership. Got to go in the back of shop and watch him do some work on truck did a WDS Diagnostics on it and we took down the road and there it was the VGT Solenoid was bad. He told me that he hadn't looked at the truck in previous visits that it was the other mechanic adn ==nd he told me just to call him on his cell from now on if I had trouble. IM SO HAPPY its not EVEN FUNNY! THE SURGING IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm convinced that there are more parts changers working on some of our trucks than certified 6.0 diesel mechanics !!!
Not that there are NOT good mechanics out there, just that they have not been given the right exposure to THIS engine !
Heck, I've been doing software for 30+ years and am consider VERY good, but don't expect me to be able to do fast work in ALL languages....
And you can't work under stress like having Hooter girls rubbing on you all over and talking dirty. You just can't work in a PRESSURE P..PACKED ENVIROMENT. Call Me John! I can Handle...er manage Hooter Girls...

You're very fortunate. I would make sure to call him first before you schedule an appointment for ANY service. Maybe he can arrange to be the one who works on your truck.

Unfortunately this seems to be the norm. Some of the people seem barely certified to change your oil.

Or any diesel for that matter. It seems that dealerships don't have that many certified diesel techs and they have no problem with unqualified people working on diesels. That's the one positive thing about having a truck out of warranty. I'm not locked in to getting work done by Ford and I can use a reputable diesel shop.

I thought you were off,... to go try to trap, some poor low life fish…
Remember whenever you are in the big ponds; you are not at the top of the food chain.
OOPS forgot Texas guy……..Definition: big pond = ocean

I keep trying to get back to lake Fork. I use a guide there, last fall we caught 300+ fish (100 crappie we took home) in a 10 hr day. Best $300 I ever spent. He provided everything.

I know I make jokes about fish and fishing it is something I want to do someday. Only the ocean kind. I have never caught a fish with a hook in my life, so it would be a very new experience.
Overseas we used to help locals out……..with the use of high explosives, to put food on the matt.

Texas Parks and Wildlife frowns on that method. They prefer you use a hook!
