Audiophile XM question on 04 f150 supercrew

I'm new to this forum and have a few questions about our new F150 supercrew Lariat 4x4 that you may be able to help me out on.
Is your XM connected through an fm modulator? or Is it a directly wired in to the audiophile system through some sort of an adaptor?
thanks much

Dave,
I found something the other day at this site, http://www.radiosandmore.com/prod_de...R-D-001-FRD100 however it is not available yet. My audiophile has a "AUX" button and I was wondering if the system is XM ready or adapatable directly. My local dealer is of no help, go figure.
thanks

yeah i think that is the part you need, and it won't be ready yet. I put the Terk commander in my truck in the ashtray, look up fanman2, it has outstanding directions and pictures of what the install looks like, it is a modulator though. As far as if an XM can be plugged in i think you have to wait for that part, if you do a search on this forum i think one of the guys that helps design the overhead rail system knows a lot about the aux button on the audiophile. But my Commander sounds great with the modulator and the new speakers.

I did a search and found Fanman2's install pictures and instructions, it looks great. I guess I am stuck with the fm modulator route. Just last week I had Delphi unit installed in my 2000 Superduty. I should have done it myself; the bozo drilled holes in my dashboard and placed the unit where I could not see it when the shifter is in drive. This was after I had discussed placement and method of attach. Well, I plan to do the next install myself. The 04 supercrew is the misses and I don’t want to make her unhappy with a shabby install job. I’ve been really happy with my first 30 years of marriage, I’d hate to have to start sleeping with one eye open so she can’t sneak up on me.

The XM Commander I have is hooked up through an FM modulator. Honestly, I think the sound is very clear. I have the DVD player in mine and an option would have been to hook it up using the RCA jacks that are on the back of the DVD player, but there was no way to hide the wires properly if I had done that. That would have been the only way to use the AUX button on the HU. As it stands, I have listened to only XM since I have had it installed and it is very clear and I don't think using the FM modulator has detracted at all from overall performance.
