Deisel fuel in engine case

I have a 03 SD with the 6.0 in it. I had 2 of the injectors repalced in the 1st month and it is now in the shop having 2 more replaced. I had been having power and milage issues with the truck and then it started smoking and hesitating. When I check the oil it was way over full as fuel was entering the engine. I had to drive the truck this way fro about 250 miles as we were in a mountain pass in Canada. Does anyone know the long term effects of the engine running with extremely thined oil. Obvoiusly the engine was not meant to be internally lubricated by deisel fuel. Could this reduce the life of my engine? I had 2 Duramax's before this SD and neither had any powertrain problems. Is anyone else having tranmission problems as well. Mine is diong some very strange things.

I don't really know, however in relation to the add and full on the dipstick the level was up approximately twice that amount. I would guess 3 or 4 quarts. Maybe more?

If you have a good service department and diesel tech, they will check that out. The first thing they would replace is the turbo because it would wash out the turbo bearings first IF there was enough fuel dilution and you went far enough.
