Pine Tar removal?

How do you get pine tar out of upholstery? Coming back from turkey hunting last night my buddy realised he was sticking to the seat back. Turns out he had picked up some pine tar from the tree he had leaned against while hunting and now it is all over the seat back. Does anyone know a good way to clean it off?

Pine tar removal.

If anyone is interested, denatured alcohol worked great and took the tar out completely.

Thanks for the info.

I've tried that Goo-B-Gone stuff before but find it only works on certain things. Fabric is NOT one of them.
