Squeeking
My Trany at least I think its my trany is making a Loud squeeking noise when I go in Reverse. Like an old rusty metal door. Squeeeeeeeeeeeek! Then followed by a bunch of little squeeks. Any Ideas?

if your tranny is a standard(you didnt say)i would guess it could be the throw out bearing,or it could be a dry u joint may be.i would check the u joints and grease or replace them as needed.as for the throw out bearing you could replace it ,or live with it.the throw out bearing will squeel when the clutch is engauged/disengauged usually.those are my best guesses,hope it helps -billy

Well its an auto but it only happens in reverse and it seems to be coming more rearward than from out of the tranny. Its an intermittent squeak... sqeak.... sqeak... I think maybe the u joint idea is right but I havent checked it out yet.
