Not that rear end, I can hear it now. Anyways, My rear diff. is leaking fluid ( a lot ) I found out it is comming from the area where the driveshaft goes into the diff. front. Is that a bering or seal, and whats its correct name so I can get one.
Also, can you hel pme decode the rear to see what I have, on the door sticker it says C3, tag on cover reads 34 21 B -- 41 30 10 --8F24 thanks.
Thats the pinion seal ,you have a Ls with 4.30 ratio
ls is limited slip ,the 4 (1 is a L ) 30 ratio
The L stands for limited slip
How many miles on the truck ?
I would chk the entire rear out
chk for backlash (play between gear teeth )
chk endplay on pinion shaft
chk runout on flange that the driveshaft attaches to
chk pinion bearing for roughness
chk the rear flange for a groove where the seal rides if it is deep it will leak even if new seal is installed.
Also what I have had in the past is the carrier bearings go bad and cause laterial stress to the pinion bearings. end result was pinion seal leaks alot.
