Removing the Tow-Hooks
I was thinking about pulling the tow hooks off of the excursion and sanding them down and polishing them... then I'd clear coat them. It's better than paying a couple hundred for stainless hooks.
What is the easiest way to get those damn things off?

It's a pain in the ***! I just took the bumper off which is easy(it's really light) but then you need an array of wrenches and ratchets in order to get inside the frame and bellow the frame to get the things off. You will need a (I believe it is a 19mm) wrench as well because one of the three bolt on the inside of the frame is so close to the side of the frame that you can't get a ratchet over it. Basically take the bumper off and take the hooks themselves off and then you can get the hook mount off.
