Well, I have future plans for items that my truck needs now that I'm going to wait on.
My Auburn L/S is shot (piece of junk), however I don't want to replace it with the Detroit locker (600.00) until I'm ready to switch out the 4.10 gears for 4.56's, which I'll need when I put my 35" tires on.
However, I can't put the 35"er's on until my 32" Super Swampers have worn out, which will probably be another 15K miles.
So, once my Swampers wear out, I'm going to order 35" Mickey Thompsons, the Detroit Locker, and the 4.56 ring and pinion and have everything done at once (2k total probably).
So, i'm already saving and preparing myself for this upgrade.
As far as my motor goes, i'm done. There's nothing I can do to it to get any more substantial power out of it other than going internal. Perhaps a horse power hear and a horsepower there with some other bolt on's like fans and such, but it's simply not worth the money for a few extra ponies.
Gears, new locker, tires...2K, that's the only upcoming mod I've got on my list. I've already dumped enough money into my truck and I have other monetary desires right now with the new house and all.
blue=oil black=fuel white=oil/water red=some kid put a road flare in your tank orange=you need to ease up on the acid and purple=you may have a squirrel stuck in your intake hoses....lol in all seriousness black to me has allways meant a fuel rich issue
No Frankie, I had it installed along with my Auburn L/S when I used to race 1/4 at Moroso. Took 3/4's a second off my quarter time. Eats alot more gas on the highway though.
Me thinks it's gonna be alright for now. Apparently it did it when I was accelerating hard and shifted into second really fast...you know, the shift that chirps your tires real good. Anyways, it only came out at the one point. My noticed it. It never comes out at any other time...and the chip was on by the way.
You know something, if you are behind a car or truck of any year and they step on it, you will see a small puff of black smoke, especially on a Diesels. If you were gettin' it, then that would be perfectly normal in my book. My dad always used to tell me (kidding around of course) that it was just the cobwebs and dust in the engine and that you had to "get it" every once in a while to "clean it out". My g/f bought it for a year or so. hehehehehe
Oh I agree absolutely. When you punch it, you blow all that carbon build up out. No doubt. I see it every day. I mean, it's so obviously clear that I can see it with my eyes closed while eating a bananna and smoking a cigarette, driving with my knee and getting a *ahem* from my girlfriend
I think we're drifting way off topic here. This thread has gone to the dogs.
And dogs don't even eat bananna's.
Funny thing is that the threads in this forum don't usually stick to subject very long. Someone will create a thread, the question will get answered in the few posts and then the thread will go on for 4 pages more with humorous rediculous conversation. I like that.
You know. I never have that black smoke comin out my trucks exhaust....
but I am so heavvy on the pedal, there is no possible way for carbon to build up.....I only drove 5 miles today and I squeed my tires a good 10 times, with one good burnout and had my foot in the floor 50% of the drive...teh oter 50% I was already at speed
