I know that a diesel will smoke some times, but I just want to clearify something. I babe my truck most of the time, only pull a two axel flat with a ditchwitch. Other than that it is really a "go to work truck" but sometimes I get on it and run it about 20 miles or so at about 80, and when I am stopped I get on it hard to keep the pipes clean so to say, and blow some $%^# out. i sometimes will smoke for a second or two when I first get on it, is that normal, I believe it is but I would like to have a secon opion. thanks for your advice and info.
Oh the color of the smoke is jet black, not alot, but I was wondering about how normal it was, it only happens when I get on it sometimes, seems that the summer fuel will give a darker cloud than winter.

Sounds normal to me. Summer fuel has a higher BTU.
Thank you for your info, I fugured that it was ok, but you never truly know untill you truly know. I was wondering just how hard it would be to put a 6 speed trany in my auto, I figure it would be very expensive, but oh well I guess i will just run the auto about 500000 and then buy a 6 speed. thanks again.
