I am planning on rebuilding a '76 model 460 . I would like to get 500 horsepower out of this engine. The engine will be going into a'78 Bronco. It needs to be very streetable, reliable, durable etc... I would like to use stock head castings , crank & rods. I would like your insight on this matter. Please help me out if you can, your time and thougts are very appreciated.
dude thanks for the site info its awesome, oh yeah, I used to be bowtie guy, but I got bored with everybody having the same old thing. Fords are underrated I think, and just short of a stroke of genuis. I own a 2000 F150 4door 4x4 4.6, a 1973 F100 SWB 351W C-4 and currently working on a 1978 Bronco 4 inch lift, 33/12.50's etc.
I love Fords!

Read around and search. Everything you'll ever want to know is there. The first thing you're going to find out is that it will be tough to get 500 horses from stock set of D3 heads. Search for posts by "Scott J. aka the mad porter". This guy KNOWS 460 heads.
