I recently acquired a 69 f100, it has a 360 motor, does anyone know anything about this motor, I'm not big on fords, I am a converted chevy man. Is this a good motor as far as performance and reliability, also can anyone give me source for doors and fenders and other body parts, the bed is straight as an arrow, but the doors and fenders have minor rust. thanks
The 360 is a great motor, for parts check the vendors here at this site, thier prices are close if not the same as others, and it helps to support this site. I am also a converted chevy man, so welcome aboard.
Thanks for the info, i have checked most of the vendors on this site and can't seem to have any luck with body parts, there is a place called obsolete ford parts in Nashville Georgia, which is around 20 miles from my house, I haven't checked with them as of yet. Thanks
hey i live in albany and a great place to find parts around here is Burnham's junk yard. they have about 5 or 6 complete trucks out there that are in excellent shape and a bunch more with a few problems. if you have any ?'s on how to get there just send me an e-mail. i hope i can help.
The 360 was a pretty good motor and will last with a little care. They did tend to burn valves on the passenger side for some reason. They are close to the 390 and as stated there are lots of parts that interchange. You should be happy with the 360 though.
Ditto as far as checking our sponsors, Iknow Mac's Auto Parts has fenders. You will enjoy your 69. My oldest son has one with a 360, the heads of three intake valves on pass side had dropped off for some reason, so we put some 390 heads on. He did have trouble with the BU light switch (3spd) but, Macs had that too. Enjoy, George
