Hi, some of you probably already know about my 67 f100 460 project truck (I've had many problems and questons about it before). Any way after 4 weeks and around $2,100 phase one is done. I had a 460/C6 combo swapped into my 1967 f100 2wd longbed custom cab in place of the previous owners 351W/C4 swap. I had a Weiand Stealth intake manafold and Holley 750 4bbl carb installed on top, a set of Hedman headers flowing out through dual 2.5" oricional 40 series flowmasters dumped under the bed. It ran really rough when I got it back from the shop and backfired through the carb hard enough to jam the choke shut (I prayed everytime for my power valves surivial) but after a day of me messing with the settings on the carb, advancing the timing and going through 2 diffrent sets of spark plugs I got the thing running like a champ. I burn off the rubber of my back 215 wide tires like nobody's business.( looks like time to buy some 12.5 wide stickys for the back). Sorry about the long post but I'm just so happy to have my truck back.
I played with the timing some today and ended up advancing another 4 or so deg. all I can say about this truck is wow. this engine has so much more power than the old 351W and I cherp second gear every time. I messed with my friend in his 95 tallon (same as eclipse with 2.0 non turbo) and killed him by 4 or 5 truck lengths with severs traction issues. He has a cold air intake and catless 2.5"
WHAT DID YOU USE TO MOUNT THE 460 ONTO THE FRAME OF THE 67. I AM JUST ABOUT READY TO MOUNT A 460 INTO A 67 FORD F 100, ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT
THANKS
MURPHY
I'm glad you got things worked out. I also have acquired a 460 and will build it and swap it out in place of the 360. But right now I have other priorities, so the 460 sits
last time I put a 460 into a 65-72 frame, I just used the 73-79 mounts. I had to drill an extra hole or something. I dont remember for sure but it was no big deal.
Holy thread resurrection. For the motor mounts I used the mounts and perches off of the 77 f100 the engine came out of. I did not do the engine install myself but from talking to the guy that did it for me I cn tell that there was alot of custom work done with setting everything up.
Moore89, Thanks For The Reply

Auto Krafters And Others Have An Engine Swap Kit, Has Anyone Used It
It's A No Weld Installation
My truck is still using the power steering unit it did with the 351W but custom brackets had to be made for my ps pump and there is a very tight fit between the manafold/header and the ps box. My hooker headers had to be extensively modified to fit and the stock manafold won't even squeeze in there. As for swap kits from what i have heard L&L is the best out there, their headers are supposed to fit without modification too.
