I have seen a couple of people post under other subjects that they had disconnected their EGR valve and was curious as to why that was done.

It helps a little with turbo lag. Why I don't know but it helps a little.

I disconnected mine after doing some reading. DO a serach on EGR. It seems some of the folks were saying it was making their inlet tube really oily and messy. Some claimed it helped the dead petal. I tried it for keeping it clean and dead pedal. I don't know about clean but it seems to have helped my dead pedal some. YMMV

Did you see any other effects at all?
MPG, EGT’s any... those were just some that came to mind quick.

Tim, I really didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. It might be a bit louder but then maybe not. Remember loud pipes saves lives. Oh that's my other vice.

No check engine lights or anything so far. EGT's the same, MPG? don't know I just fill it up when it needs it.

I am going to connect mine back up because my dead pedal and turbo lag is back now that the temperature is hotter outside. I see if it gets worse or better?

Sorry, I hit post too soon, I disconected mine on my old Benz diesel, and it keeps the
intake clean and more power and better mpg's. I am not sure where the EGR is located on the new 6.0. Thanks!

The plug going into the top of the EGR valve. Remember to save the small plastic part of the clip so that if you want to put it back so the dealer doesn't see it or suspect something.

Look right over the center of the radiator on the front top of the motor just a little in front and to the left of the oil filter. Right behind the throttle body.

Right on top of the motor next to the oil filter. Has a wire harness going into the top of it.

I will be interested to read if you see/feel any difference, and notice a change in MPG

I connected my egr vavle back up and I don't feel any difference, but I will continue to monitor and maybe things will change after driving longer.
