1984 transmission question
Hello, I hope someone can help me, I have a 1984 ford f250 6.9 dsl 2wd with a 4spd manual trans, it has an old overdrive unit installed in front of the trans between the bell housing and the gear box, I was on a trip and my overdrive went out. now i need to remove the o.d. and my question is, does a 5spd from a 460 87 f250 fit the 6.9? if anyone knows please let me know thanks, Randy

As far as I know this will bolt up. However I believe that there is some sort of secondary adapter plate that is required. Have you gotten rid of the overdrive unit? If not were you looking to sell it?
