Broken ignition rod

I recently broke my ignition rod running from my ignition switch to my ignition lock in my 86 bronco. I dont know where to find a new one or if i should just have an electronic one installed. I looks as if a weld has bronken by the hinge. They do not sell this part at part stores or online i was told i have to go directly to ford or a junk yard. If anyone has had this problem i would appreciate some advice please email me or respond to this thread. thanks

I am confused... Your ignition rod... doesnt that just run from the key cylinder to starter that is mounted to the top of your column?

Ford Dealers sell the thing for super cheap. and it is a very easy install.

I know there are quite a few threads on here about this problem... might try doing a search. If you cant find anything about it let me know.

Good luck
