If someone gets this figured out for a Holley, PLEASE post some pictures. This has been a popular subject from time to time and I still haven't got mine figured out. Pictures would be most helpful!
I fabricated one for my F100 with a holley out of brake line. I welded on some larger diameter pieces of steel tubing that fit the carb and trans attachment points. I'll admit it wasn't exactly easy to make because of all of the bends and getting the correct length. You have to use something made of tubing and is light enough. If it is too heavy your transmission may downshift when you hit bumps in the road. I know that 1/4" threaded rod has been used and that it was heavy enough to downshift on it's own when running over pot holes or railroad crossings. I suppose you could get a stronger return spring and solve this problem.
Anyway, aluminum tubing is the ideal material. But steel brake line works just fine if you have a mig welder to weld on the end pieces.
