If worried about the paint - try Scotchcal
3M makes a product called ScotchCal that is a clear - virtually invisible paint protectant you can apply to your truck - I had it put on my entire front end to keep it from getting pitted from rock chips - it is gauranteed not to turn color and is removable without damaging the paint - I didn't put a bugshield on since there is no need unless you like the looks of them.
I wouldn't recommend applying this yourself however as I think it is rather difficult to apply.

My brother ownes a truck accessories business, when it comes to bug shields LUND makes an almost indestructable bug shield, and if they break they replace them without any problem. The only problem with this is to get it to break you pretty much have to take it off and slam it against a block wall!!

I mentioned this a few weeks back. I have(had) an interceptor by LUND and it looked awesome and yes, it was indestructible. But it had one problem. TURBULENCE!!!! It caused so much havoc with the window moldings and grille that it sounded like a tin can rattling around a bunch of plastic marbles. We tried to isolate the noises but had no luck. I took it off and all was back to normal. Dont expect to get a refund after its been on the truck a few weeks. Its a wall hangar in my garage as I type this. I was thinking about trying to cut it down to a lower profile and try it again. I would definitely try somthing with a low profile first. Just my .02

Well I forgot about this post. I've had a bugdeflector on my truck now for about a week. I have absolutely NO hood shaking or any other problems. Yes I have had it on the freeway at 80mph for extended periods of time. It's by DriverDesign. It mounts between the grill and hood,(using the stock Ford bolts) and on each end there is a piece of two way tape/foam that you stick to the shield and on your truck. You CANNOT see the tape/foam, and if you ever want to take it off for any reason it's just tape, it will come off. I am very happy with it and highly reccommend it....

Ford Bug shield, no hood shake and looks great, and weather tech window shades, the look nice but I couldn't get the from ones to stay on, when I tried to install them like the factory said, it would have damaged the rubber around the lower windows, so I
just took some 3m double stick tape and put on the edge and put them back in the track and they are fine now.
