Ok, I just heard that politicians...mainly senators/congressmen...do not pay into social security, but instead have their own program (which they voted and approved)which pays full their current salary till death...and its free.
Can anyone confirm or deny this or provide a resource for this information...?
If this is true (light bulb going on) then that explains why the elected officials ar'nt in any big hurry to fix social security, medicare and other age related monetary issues...
Wabiker, its true. Senators, Congressmen and the President and most governmental workers have their own retirement plan that pays really big bucks. Even cops, firemen and schoolteachers have it. The slackers down at the Township and City offices too. So yeah, the fact that the SS systm is a 'Ponzi' scheme that can only go broke eventually and leave the last generation holding an empty bag is of no concern to them. DF
The real scheme is using SS and the USPS to help offset and float balances and favors elsewhere. Look into the USPS and foregone revenue (or whatever they call it) and explain it so I can understand it
Or try counting the zeros in six trillion dollars of debt on two hands.
