I read somewhere on this site that if your truck doesn't set for extended period of time then you should not have to worrie about algae/ bacteria.
The fisrt time that I changed my fuel filter at 30,000 mi (which was a mistake on my part) there was black stuff on the sides of fuel bowl. I ask Diesel Injection Service in my home town here what that was and thay said that its bacteria. I use this truck daily. So decide for yourself if you need it. Ford said that it would not hurt anything and doesn't recommened any use of supplements or conditioners. I have not use the conditioners as yet, but if I see this black stuff in my fuel bowl again I will. I do use the fuel supplement in every tank.
