King Pins

My friends and I are comendeering an old 1980 E-350 for a road trip. It was my dad's and we're fixing it up. He told me it has a loose king pin on the front end, it's a 2wd. Are king pins easily changed or repaired? I have yet to do any inspection on the front end, and wanted to get some feedback first. Thanks.

I'd almost bet that it has ball joints instead and no, its not difficult, although some special tools are required.

the job may be easy if the king pins are not rusted in and come out. since your van is older than my truck, id say they wont come out easy unless you have an oxy torch. I just had a shop do mine because i spent a few hours trying to knock out my pins with a sledge hammer and they wouldnt budge. i paid $333 for both king pins to be replaced with a kit that i brought in.
