YES - I had the same issue with my 2004 V-10. I'd start it up and especially on thpse cold days in January, it would go from 0 RPM to 2000 RPM in an instant - VHOOOM! It must have sucked 1/2 gallon of gas in that initial burst! My dealer also told me that this was normal, and I guess it is with this engine since you have also reported it. However, I don't think it is good for the engine. Any suggestions on how to deal with this?
Buy a Diesel ??? is that a good answer ?/ Ha Ha, just kidding. It's not good, but there is not much you can do. Just deal with it. It's ford way of having Job Security I guess, after 36,005 miles it drops a ring or spins a bering and you need a new motor after the warranty is up, and the power train warranty wont cover it because they will say it was drivers abuse, of course.
mine does the same thing however, it does it in warm to hot weather , just like you say , i mean i am not even in the seat and turn thr ignition and it sounds kike you are standing on it.
Mine (03 X) will do this everytime it sits overnight or so, never twice the same day. It did it yesterday after sitting for a fews days and the temp was 91. It always goes down to normal quickly, but the initial start is always an eye opener. To me, it is sweet V10 music!
