3.0 OBDII Check Engine Light
My 96 3.0 ranger has a check engine light on I am very capable and know my way around the truck pretty good. When I went to my friends shop and used his snap-on ecu scan computer I received a Mass Air error and Crank sensor error ok Mass air explains my early morning studder. Now the Crank sensor is my real question. Are these none to go bad? Will the Ecu throw the crank code because the mass air is bad? I ask this because I have done the old start replacing sensor game before and it never works out very good on my wallet. Thanks for any input.

I doubt there is a connection b/t the MAF code and the crank sensor code. The former is used primarily for determing proper air/fuel mixture, while the latter has to do with ignition timing.
Crankshaft position sensors are not prone to failure on the 3.0L Ranger. Are you sure the code was related to the crank sensor? Because camshaft position sensors are indeed known to throw codes on the 3.0L.
