I would find another dealer that has a lot of trucks and speak with the service manager and find out about the diesel techs he has, certification, etc.

If you were in Central Texas I could recommend the one I use. I have heard pros and cons, but I have been happy with the service. I deal with the diesel tech and service manager, occasionally the shop foreman. I know my truck much better than the "service advisors" who are sales people for the service dept who are not very technically qualified.

Thanks for looking into this Steve. So this begs the question: I live in Washington, why did the dealer flash California emmisions code onto my truck? Is this normal for other states to do this? Is there a non-Cal emmisions version of this code that might give me even better performance? Anyone know anything about this?

As far as I know it had something to do with an indicator light coming on if there was a certain turbo code. '

I have no idea why your dealer would have done that. I would find another dealer or go have a serious conversation with the service manager.

Well here it is tue. and still no call from FMC rep. Also don't look like anyone came up with a fix for 4th & 5th gear braking. Tomarrow's a new day for Ford to tell someone there broken truck is within perimeters.

Don't get discouraged. This is part of what they put everyone through, thinking you will get discouraged and trade the truck. Stay with it and you will get the truck fixed eventually except the PI which I'm afraid is gone. The 4th and 5th gear braking has some hope. Do you have a predator?

The Dec. flash took out the braking and pi, Lets hope there is a fix coming soon for both. I'm not discouraged to the point of giving up by any means, but thanks for the good words. Almost forgot no pred. yet.

It is just a theory of mine but we can save our stock flash (what that entails i don't know) to disk with the Predator. I am in a few days, going to save my stock flash (0603) to a floppy (or cd) and give it to someone who has lost their braking. There are people on this forum who still have their PI.

Yeserday the FMC rep. called, the man is working on my braking problem, he is not giving up. Tell your dealer you you insist on talking to the FMC rep. We need numbers.I can not do this alone. Your vehicle came with braking, firmly & politely insist FMC repair the braking.

I think some are meaning that the T/H doesn't work because it doesn't downsift when they left off the throttle...
I actually would NOT want that and like the way mine functions...
above a certain mph... 55 or so - not sure...
if I let off it stays in top gear and sometimes seems to go into nuetral somewhat ????
and will continue to slow down "slowly" no downshifts until about 45, then if I tap the brakes it will start to downshift... what I normally do is put a slight pressure on the brakes to help the tranny decide to downshift and it will drop sequentially until first is reached...

Never have just let off without doing the brakes, but will in the next run I make to see what it does...
